It’s Shaun the Sheep

It’s Shaun the Sheep, it’s Shaun the Sheep. (I like “It’s Timmy Time! better) No I haven’t gone completely mad. My latest finish is Shaun the Sheep. I am now ahead of myself, stitching wise, for the birthday. Now all I have to do is make the card and deal with the notebook. I’m heading into town tomorrow so will get the notebook then, along with some chocolates for Mother’s Day.

Stitched on 14ct ivory aida. Converted Anchor to DMC and sub one colour. Full stitches only with backstitch.

For my birthday I got a subscription to the World of Cross Stitching magazine. I recieved my sub on Saturday and the sub gift at the beginning of the week. A lot of the subscribers didn’t get their free Winnie the Pooh chart, and I was one of them. However, the people at the magazine knew about this and sent the chart on its own. My chart came today. Poor postman, making a second trip to our house twice in one week. I don’t stitch Winnie the Pooh normally but at the moment I feel like I should stitch this one since they posted it out. We’ll see what happens.

Now that Shaun the Sheep is finished I don’t know what I’m going to stitch next. Leonardo is calling my name to be started, but I really don’t want to start a new project just now. I’m going on holiday on 16th which is only a couple of weeks away. I guess it’s a good idea to work on a UFO and try to get one finished. Sound like a good idea. Which one? I don’t know. Just go with my heart’s direction I guess. Or see which one takes my fancy. I’ve only really got 10 left to chose from, how hard can it be? A big one, medium or small? I’ll let you know soon…

Cheers!

Champagne anyone? Well actually not for me, J2O if it makes any difference.

What’s going on? Well Country Companions Cheers! is now complete. That what’s going on. Really it’s just another finish for March, so why even bother celebrate? Guess I’m going with the theme of the cross stitch…

Stitched on 14ct white aida with DMC thread from the kit. Full stitches, half stitch and backstitch.

I’ll be finish-finishing Cheers! on a notebook. It’s my first time and will be getting out, or rather finding, instructions of how to fix the cross stitch onto the notebook. I don’t know whether or not he’ll use it, but hey it’s gonna be his birthday present anyway! lol
From Cheers! to Shaun the Sheep. I am now currently stitching Shaun the Sheep from Cross Stitcher 221. Shaun will be made into a birthday card. I’ll be looking out for a scene from the series for the background.

Away from cross stitching, I have written three chapters for my latest fanfiction called “Can’t Stop the Rain”. I have posted the first chapter over at Westlife Official Forum along with auditions. I know what I want to write for chapter four but I’m stuck for character names so I’ve called for auditions. But all is not lost. While auditions are running for the next week I will be writing the characters’ profiles. Before now I have had the characters talk about previous events and most of the time the ages and years doesn’t make sense. So this time things will be more carefully worked out.
I don’t have any plans for this story so I’m going with the flow. I want to be a few chapters ahead of myself, this way things should go smoothly and a chapter could be posted weekly. Hopefully!

Happy Bunny

I am one very happy bunny!

My main present came through today and if I had actually written down my guess, I would have been right. My main present is (drumroll please…)

The entire collection of Hercules Legendary Journeys!  This will keep me busy for a while.

No post without a piece of cross stitch, well in my book anyway. Today I got the last birthday card and I started on my thrid thank you stitch. The stitching is done and comes from the same mag as the Panda and Frog thank you cards. I did the monkey design with one sub of thread.

Stitched on 14ct ivory aida with recommended DMC with one sub. Full stitches only with a little bit of backstitch for the smile.

All I have to do is make it into a card and send it of with the other two. In the morning, though, I finished making mum’s mother day present. I can’t show you either the present or the card until April. Who can wait that long?

Now all I have to do is decide what to watch. The OC… Hercules…The OC…Hercules…The OC…Hercules??

Birthday

I had a good birthday yesterday. We went to the Victoria and Albert museum then had pizza from Pizza Hut. I ordered the large pizza with the stuffed crust and guess what… I couldn’t eat it all! I only really managed two slices. But to be honest I had the garlic bread starters and two glasses of orange juice. They a lone filled me up. All in all a good day.

Here are my birthday cards that I got (I’m still waiting for one as far as I know…):

If  you click on the image to get a bigger picture, I think you can see a cat on the greenhouse down the bottom of the garden. That would be Winnie. She loves sleeping there in the afternoons when the sun is out.

Here are my presents(I have been told that there’s two main presents on their way.):

I feel this could be my next project after all the presents and cards stitching.

Might start watching this tonight! Have now got all the seasons!

Now for some stitching… Yes I’ve managed to do some stitching during my birthday weekend! lol Well actually I did some stitching on Friday and today. Here are my Friday’s stitching:

Both stitched on 14ct ivory aida with recommended DMC with one or two subs. Full stitches with a little bit of backstitch for the frog’s mouth.

Today I made them into cards and are now currently under a heavy book to flatten down a little..

As you can see here I did carry the backing paper onto the back of the card. I did this to the Frog card as well.

And for those who want to know I didn’t do the stitched frame around the characters. I made the frame with the spellbinder dies. But here are the designs showed in the Cross Stitch Crazy issue 133:

Without the stitched frame both these was a quick and easy stitch. I feel like I will be doing the Panda again since he looks soo cute!!

Anyway… Thanks for looking

Happy St Patricks Day!

Well a very happy St Patricks Day!

Country Companions Cheers! is now more than half done. Wednesday morning I did the backstitch and then in the evening I started stitching on the second half. Today I worked on the blending and here is my progress as of today:

The backstitch I did on Tuesday:

Wednesday’s progress (morning and evening):

And today’s stitching:

I’m putting Cheers on hold for the next couple of days to try and get some thank you cards stitched. Though I am beginning to think I might not need them.

Thanks for looking…

Cheers! WIP

Really just a quick update for my Country Companions cross stitch:

Friday’s stitching:

Sunday evening’s stitching:

Monday’s and Tuesday’s stitching:

I did do a little bit of unpicking this morning. It wasn’t much, probs only about half an hours worth of stitching and only took about 15 minutes to unpick. I did start on the backstitch during the afternoon and managed to get the glass, hand, face and the bubbles done. I am now on the bottle and ladybird. I’m guessing… less then an hours worth of backstitch there?

I would like to take this time to thank you for the comments you have left on this blog. I know I don’t have many, but the few I do have mean a lot. Also I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who views this blog. Again, it means a lot! Thank you.

Country Companions, a WIP

Hello all!  Two posts in one day but three posts in one week!! Is that heard of from me? Anyway since my last post I have decided what to stitch next. It is a birthday piece and I don’t really need to rush it or anything. Already half of it is getting done. Here’s my progress:

About 3-4 hours worth of stitching on day one.

About 2-3 hours worth of stitching on day two

On day three I’ve only done about an hour and half worth of stitching. I don’t have a picture to you of that progress yet, but shall share it with you sometime next week.

Now away from stitching… Something I don’t really share… A drawing!

With or without shading?

This is supposed to be Nicky Byrne. I am the first to admit that I am not a very good drawer and when it comes to people I can safely say… It’s my worse thing to draw! But hey ho I still try!

Here’s the picture I was drawing from:

This is from the Westlife calendar 2011.

Any resemblance at all??
