A finish + a WIP

Winnie asleep in the sunshine in the garden.

I have completely stopped doing the Owl tapestry. I just lost all enthusiasm for it. In fact, I think I’m not one for the tapestry range. Every time I go back to the Owl tapestry, I stop after a while. So, note to self, do not buy any more tapestries!!!

So instead of working on the tapestry I started working on the free gift that came with the latest issue of The World of Cross Stitching. The free gift is a spring card pack and you can choose between a lilac cat or a duck. This card pack only provided a piece of fabric for one of the two designs and I really wanted to stitch both of them. I have done the lilac cat first with the frabic provided. For the duck, I’ve found a spare piece of frabic from my stash that was (luckily) the same size.

So the finished piece to show you is the lilac cat:

Stitched on 14 count white adia with the stranded cutton provided in the card pack. Contains full stitches only and backstitch.

I love cats and lilac just so happens to be my favourite colour. So it’s a purrfect combination. It didn’t take very long to do, a couple of hours at best.

When I placed the final parts of the backstitch into the cat, I immediatly started on the duck. About 4 or 5 hours later, this is how much I’ve done:

Stitched on 14 count white adia with stranded cutton provided in the card pack. Contains full stitched only and backstitch.

So much for working through my UFOs this year…

Thanks for the looking…
